Cheeseburger Meatball Fries
- One large bag of oven fries, cooked according to your preference
- 1½ cups beef mince
- ¾ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- 12 rashers bacon, cut into small strips
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp plain flour
- 2 cups beer
- 1½ cups double cream
- 1 tsp salt
- 8 oz cheddar
- Cook your fries according to packet instructions.
- Mix together the beef mince, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, garlic and onion and roll into walnut sized balls.
- Brown in a little oil then remove from the pan and add the bacon. Cook until crisp then add the butter and heat until foaming. Stir in the flour.
- Add the beer in stages, stirring all the while to avoid lumps, to make a smooth sauce. Reduce for a further 5 minutes.
- Pour in the cream and salt then stir, add the meatballs and cook for a for a further 4 minutes until cooked through. Add the cheese and stir until everything is incorporated and you have a smooth sauce.
- Spoon over your fries and serve.
