Samoa Apple Slices

Samoa Apple Slices
You can buy jarred caramel sauce in most grocery stores (near the ice cream sundae supplies), or you could make your own, using this recipe.

Ingredients
  • 3 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 c. jarred caramel
  • 1 c. coconut flakes
  • ½ c. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tbsp. butter
Instructions
  1. Slice apples into ¼"-thick slices. Use a small biscuit cutter or melon baller to remove the core from the apples. Set aside.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, add caramel and coconut flakes, stirring to combine. Spoon caramel-coconut mixture onto each apple slice.
  3. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted. Drizzle melted chocolate on apple slices and serve.

Cheesecake Stuffed Cupcakes
Now you don't have to choose between your two favorite desserts.

Ingredients
  • 1 box chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients called for on box
  • 12 frozen, plain 1" cheesecake squares
  • 1 c. unsalted butter, softened
  • 2½ c. powdered sugar
  • ¾ c. cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Pinch kosher salt
  • ¼ c. heavy cream, plus more if needed
  • Rainbow sprinkles, for decoration
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350° and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, prepare cupcake batter according to package directions. Fill half the muffin tin with batter, then place a piece of cheesecake in the center. Cover with more batter and bake for 25 minutes. Let cool completely.
  3. Meanwhile, make frosting: In a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt until light and fluffy. Beat in heavy cream (adding more by the tablespoon until consistency is creamy but can hold peaks).
  4. Pipe cupcakes with frosting and decorate with rainbow sprinkles.

Jack Skellington Oreo Pops

Ingredients
  • 12 Halloween Oreos
  • 2 c. white chocolate, melted
  • 2 tsp. coconut oil
  • Black icing
  • 12 lollipop sticks
  • Black ribbon
Instructions
  1. Line a medium baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Stick the lollipop sticks into the cream of the Oreos.
  3. Mix coconut oil into white chocolate and dip Oreos into chocolate until completely coated. Place in refrigerator to harden, 5 to 10 minutes.
  4. Using the black icing, draw Jack’s face on the Oreos and let cool slightly. Tie black ribbon in a bow at the bottom of the Oreo and serve.

Dracula Dentures

Ingredients
  • 1 tube chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 1 can vanilla frosting
  • red food coloring
  • mini marshmallows
  • slivered almonds
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper. Roll cookie dough into 1 ½” balls and place on baking sheets. Bake until golden, about 12 minutes. Let cool completely then cut in half.
  2. Add a few drops of red food coloring into vanilla frosting and stir until smooth. Spread a thin layer of red frosting onto each cookie half.
  3. Place mini marshmallows around the round edges of half of the halves. Place the remaining halves on top, then stick a slivered almond on each side to create fangs.

  • ¼ c. sugar
  • Lemon wedge, for rimming glasses
  • 3 c. ice
  • 1 750-ml bottle moscato
  • 3 c. Pink lemonade
  • 1 can lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite)
  • 1 c. vodka
  • 2 c. sliced strawberries
  • 1 lemon, sliced into half moons
Instructions
  1. In a small dish, pour sugar. Rim glasses with lemon wedge then dip in sugar.
  2. Add ice to a large pitcher. Pour in moscato, pink lemonade, soda, and vodka. Add strawberries and lemon slices and stir to combine.
  3. Divide between glasses and serve immediately.

Ingredients
FOR THE CRUST
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • ½ c. firmly packed light brown sugar
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • pinch of kosher salt
  • 1 c. unsalted butter, softened
FOR THE CHEESECAKE
  • 3 8-oz. blocks cream cheese, softened
  • ¾ c. sugar, plus 2 tablespoons, divided
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • pinch of kosher salt
  • 3 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and diced
  • ½ tsp. ground cinnamon
FOR THE STREUSEL TOPPING
  • ¾ c. firmly packed brown sugar
  • ¼ c. granulated sugar
  • ½ c. all-purpose flour
  • ½ c. old-fashioned oats
  • ½ c. butter, softened
  • ½ tsp. cinnamon
  • Caramel, for serving
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9-x-13” baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Make crust: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add butter and use your hands, or a pastry cutter, to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it’s crumbly and moist. Press into prepared pan and set aside.
  3. Make filling: In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and ¾ cup sugar until light and fluff. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well between each addition. Mix in vanilla and salt. Pour over the crust.
  4. In a small bowl, toss together apples, 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  5. Make streusel topping: In a medium bowl, whisk together brown sugar, sugar, flour and oats, then cut in butter with a fork or pastry cutter.
  6. Scatter apples on top of the cheesecake mixture, then top with oat mixture.
  7. Bake until the cheesecake is only slightly jiggly in the center, about 55 minutes. Let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  8. Before serving, drizzle with caramel sauce and slice into squares.

BLT Sushi
One fusion food that is definitely worth trying.

Ingredients
  • 10 slices bacon
  • 2 tbsp. mayo
  • 1 c. chopped tomatoes
  • 1 c. shredded romaine
  • kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400º. On a large baking sheet with a wire rack placed on top, line 5 slices bacon side by side. Lift one end of every other bacon slice and place another bacon slice on top of the lifted pieces. Lay the slices back down. Next, lift opposite bacon slices back and place a bacon slice on top. Lay the slices back down. Repeat the weaving process until you have a bacon weave of 5 strips by 5 strips.
  2. Bake until cooked but still pliable, 20 minutes.
  3. Pat bacon weave with paper towels to drain fat and transfer to a piece of saran wrap (helps for rolling!).
  4. Spread a thin layer of mayo on top of bacon weave, then top with tomatoes (keep them on the bottom ⅓ for easier rolling) and romaine. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Starting from the bottom, tightly roll, then slice.

Cheesesteak Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients
  • 4 bell peppers, halved
  • 1½ lb. sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 16 oz. Crimini mushrooms
  • kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 16 slices provolone
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 325º. Place peppers in a large baking dish and bake until tender, 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add steak and cook about 1 minute per side. Set aside.
  3. Add onions and mushrooms to skillet and season with salt and pepper. Return steak to skillet and stir to combine.
  4. Add provolone to bottom of peppers and top with steak mixture. Top with another piece of provolone and broil, 3 minutes.
  5. Serve hot.

Ingredients
  • 1 tube crescent rolls
  • 1 c. canned pumpkin puree
  • 3 oz. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • ⅔ c. sugar, divided
  • 3 tsp. pumpkin pie spice, divided
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • pinch of kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp. melted butter
  • ½ c. powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp. milk
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl using a hand mixer, mix pumpkin, cream cheese, egg, ⅓ c sugar, 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. Mix until smooth and season with a pinch of salt.
  3. Unroll crescent rolls and pinch the perforations together to create one solid sheet. Cut into 8 squares.
  4. Dollop a rounded tablespoon of pumpkin mixture onto each square. Pinch all corners together and seal to create a ball.
  5. In a small bowl, mix sugar with 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice. Brush balls with melted butter and roll in the sugar mixture.
  6. Place balls on a baking sheet, leaving about 2” space between each ball. Bake until balls are golden and puffy, about 10-15 minutes.
  7. While the balls are baking, make glaze: in a medium bowl, mix powdered sugar and milk until smooth, adding more powdered sugar or milk for desired consistency. Serve slightly cooled balls with glaze for dipping.

FOR THE CAKE
  • 1 box devil's food cake, plus ingredients called for on box
  • 2 c. peanut butter, melted
  • 1 c. chopped Reese's
  • 1 c. Reese's pieces
FOR THE PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING
  • 1 c. peanut butter
  • 10 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 2 c. powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp. kosher salt
  • 1-2 tbsp. heavy cream
Instructions
  1. Bake cake: Preheat oven to 350° and line a 9-x-13” pan with parchment paper. Prepare cake batter according to package instructions and pour into prepared pan. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cake comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Let cake cool completely.
  2. Using the back of a wooden spoon, poke holes all over cake. Then pour melted peanut butter over the entire cake, filling the holes. Set aside.
  3. Make frosting: In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream together peanut butter and butter. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and salt and beat until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in cream to loosen frosting, if needed.
  4. Spread frosting all over the top of the cake. Top with chopped Reese’s and Reese’s Pieces.
