One large bag of oven fries, cooked according to your preference
1½ cups beef mince
¾ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
12 rashers bacon, cut into small strips
4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp plain flour
2 cups beer
1½ cups double cream
1 tsp salt
8 oz cheddar
Instructions
Cook your fries according to packet instructions.
Mix together the beef mince, breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, garlic and onion and roll into walnut sized balls.
Brown in a little oil then remove from the pan and add the bacon. Cook until crisp then add the butter and heat until foaming. Stir in the flour.
Add the beer in stages, stirring all the while to avoid lumps, to make a smooth sauce. Reduce for a further 5 minutes.
Pour in the cream and salt then stir, add the meatballs and cook for a for a further 4 minutes until cooked through. Add the cheese and stir until everything is incorporated and you have a smooth sauce.
Spoon over your fries and serve.
